The former Ashanti regional chair for the Convention People Party, Mr. O. S Osei Yaw, has told the NDC Members of Parliament to stand up loud and resist the controversial Mobile Money Electronic Taxation (E-Levy).

In an interview with GhNsem.com, he hailed the speaker of Parliament, Hon.Alban Bagbin for being nationalistic.

“Bagbin is not narcissistic. He is fighting for the benefit of Ghanaians. I want to tell the Npp MPs to avoid the futile battle. Everyone must rise against the diabolical E-levy,” he underscored.

In addition, he announced to the Akufo-Addo led government to listen to the voice of the people and abolish the said E- levy, which has brought a lot of confusion to Parliament.

“I do not think the E- levy is the only means the Npp government can tax Ghanaians, I suggest they cancel everything and get new ideas and means to get money from Ghanaians and not this controversial means “, he added.

The controversial former chairman chided the Npp for not helping Ghanaians, but always finding dubious ways of taxing the poor Ghanaians.

‘‘I am surprised how farmers are going to pay this tax without benefit. farmers harvested little this year so how are such category of persons pay tax they do not understand’’, he quizzed.
