The inhabitants of Sefwi Subri in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality of Western North region have proposed to the government to provide them with a community library to strengthen the education of the children.

The community made this eloquent plea in a conversation with GhNsem.com today, adding that the proposal to have a community library has been long overdue.

They expressed that, the demand for the community to have a library has it that, students have to travel to adjoining communities before they can conduct research on their courses they are doing in schools “absence of library has affected our children it, has to make them lazy students”.

A committee member, Enock, set forth that, these and other needs have been sent to the authorities for assistance but no one has taken intense concern in their demands.

“We have sent petitions about the library and other pertinent subjects to the Member of Parliament, Hon. Alfred Obeng Boateng and the Municipal Chief Executive Hon Alfred Amoah, but nothing fruitful has turned out of it. Sometimes you do not have a chance to enter their offices. The moment you get there, they will tell you they are unavailable,” he reiterated.

A level three hundred student who spoke to this news portal also proclaimed that they only see their MP and government officials during the elections as soon as election is over, they become enemies to them, even if you visit them in their offices.

“We cannot phantom a single development by the MP for the community since he came into office, we drove the previous one out because of related behaviours but the current one will be worse, they only have time for you during election season, after they won voters become antagonists to them and their families,” he stated.

“I am appealing to the government to build the community library for us, at least this will bolster our learning because in this modernized world we always have to travel outside the community to do research on our programs, it’s given us a lot problems in our studies, especially during recess periods,” he confirmed.
